Beer League Movie Hits Big On Amazon
New York, NY (PRWeb) January 10, 2007 -- Beer League has been holding a "Top 15" spot on Amazon.com for a month now with no immediate decrease in sight. The sales of Lange's movie not only bolster the star's wallet, but they also increase sales of other products promoted on Sirius.
Released last summer, "Beer League" got rave reviews from movie critics, but little theater exposure. Beer League was the brainchild of Artie Lange, infamous actor/comedian and Howard Stern sidekick. Lange not only starred in the movie, but he also wrote the script.
Lange first hit the big time with a stint on Fox's "Mad TV", but he quickly lost control of his life spiraling downward into a world of addiction. Since then, he has rebuilt his career with some memorable movie parts, but his biggest break came as he replaced Jackie Martling on the Howard Stern Show.
In 2005, Lange began the "Beer League" project, and according to his rants on the Stern Show, the entire process caused this unappreciated writer/actor -- great pain. By the time Beer league was released in early 2006, Stern had moved to Sirius, and Lange was trying to beat a newly discovered heroin habit while successfully hiding his problems "Daily" on the Howard Stern Show.
The movie was premiered in theaters last September, and the event was broadcasted on Sirius. Reviews were excellent, and the picture made decent money in a very limited theatrical release, but just as word of this small gem was getting out, it was pulled from theaters.
Then came December when Beer League was released on DVD. Suddenly, the reviewers were buzzing once again, and this time they were Howard Stern fans. Thanks to the exposure of the Howard Stern Show and Sirius Radio, Lange's movie was able to promote the DVD launch effectively.
Beer League has been holding a "Top 15" spot on Amazon.com for a month now with no immediate decrease in sight. The sales of Lange's movie not only bolster the star's wallet, but they also increase sales of other products promoted on Sirius.
According to Wayne Perry, president of SiCap Industries, makers of (Sinus Buster hot pepper nasal sprays), Amazon purchases of Beer League have increased his company's sales by 15%.
"Our Sinus Buster formulas have always been the top selling nasal sprays on Amazon hands down, but when Artie Lange introduced his movie on the Howard Stern Show, our Amazon sales jumped by 400%. This is just another example of why advertising on Sirius is the best thing we've ever done."
