Software Testing - Books
The idea of Software Testing by any company is a interesting one indeed. That any company that has spent countless hours and probably Billions of Dollars in creating such a Spftware Product, would NOT EVEN TEST IT !!, - lunacy indeed that is.
It would define their company image if they failed to test it properly, and it went to the public in a buggy manner. Yet some of the largest companies do just that. Their Software Products ARE BUGGY, they are Tested, yes, But such a large and complicated program may Never be fully tested properly.
Once it gets aout of Beta form, and the General Public gets hold of it, then the Real Testing begins in earnest. This is what these companies rely on. Then they may or may not realese a Service Pack, for that Software Package. It all depend on just how fast or keen they are to recoup of of their expenditure.
The idea of Software Testing is not new, indeed there are plenty of others that will Train you or your staff. They offer all manner of Training Classes & Courses for one and all to attend. Some are usefull, some are Not.
There is some merit in the thought that those who wrote the Software Package, are indeed the best suited to test drive the final product. Others, think that they are too close to the Fire to see any mistakes that have been made.
In some areas, a team of talented users will test drive, the final product. They give feedback into a local Forum, where they and the writers meet to discuss any revisions to the product. This often occours in the Beta Phase of the Software writing. The Feedback continues long after the release of the Final Product.
