As far as I know, Batman (Christian Bale) is the only superhero that doesn’t have any super power. Hard training and sophisticated technology are the things that he relied on. He bleeds, cries and sometimes gives up - if not for Alfred, he probably would have taken off the suit right now. His world is only a slight distance from ours.
Perhaps, all these “weaknesses” that makes Christopher Nolan interested in making the film. It’s not the franchise I guess. Perhaps it’s the story, the characters and the people that lured him in to this.
The movie itself is quite different with the other Batman series. Some people said that it is not Batman 1, 2 or any other number. It is self dependent; an entirely different entity. No connection what so ever with other Batman stories. You won’t be seeing that black and dark city of Gotham. Instead, the city is portrayed as a more corrupted alive city.
This time, Batman has to face two enemies; his hope of ending his night life as a caped crusader and a mischievou, canny Joker ((Heath Ledger) who is very determined to kill him; whatever it takes. How would Wayne solve this problem this time? How far would he takes to save his life and the people of Gotham?
